
UK Food Labels Explained
Since the UK left the EU, we are able to set our own regulations on how food is produced, how it will impact the environment and how the animals involved are cared for.
This freedom could be a good or a bad thing. We might keep our standards high, or we might cave in to the lure of cheap, antibiotic riddled American imports.
Food accreditation labels are supposed to provide confidence that the food is up to par, but some of them are vague – or downright misleading – about what they actually do. An extra twist is the introduction of brands specific schemes and labels too.
